Your Privacy Matters

FitPlate is designed with your privacy as a top priority. We believe your nutrition journey and health data are deeply personal, and we've built our app to respect that.

Information We Store Locally

FitPlate stores the following information only on your device using Apple's secure on-device storage:

• Meal & Food Data: Foods you log, meals, recipes, and nutritional information
• Nutrition Goals: Your calorie targets, macro goals, and dietary preferences
• Body Measurements: Weight entries, body measurements, and progress photos you choose to save
• Meal Plans: Generated meal plans and grocery lists
• Profile Information: Your height, weight, age, and fitness goals for TDEE calculations
• App Settings: Your preferences for notifications, themes, and display options

This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it using the app's export feature.

Information We Do NOT Collect

FitPlate does not collect, access, or transmit:

• Your location data
• Your contacts or address book
• Your browsing history
• Your personal health data to ad network profiles
• Your payment card or Apple ID credentials
• Your personal health data to any external servers

Tracking, Attribution, and Optimization

FitPlate uses limited tracking and attribution signals to measure app performance and optimize the app experience and campaigns.

• Data shared for attribution: App events (such as app open/install attribution signals)
• Device identifier usage: IDFA/device identifiers only when you grant App Tracking Transparency permission
• Without ATT permission: Aggregated attribution may still occur via Apple's SKAdNetwork

You can manage tracking permission any time in iOS Settings under Privacy & Security > Tracking.

HealthKit Integration

If you choose to connect FitPlate with Apple Health (HealthKit), the app may read and write:

• Active energy burned
• Weight data
• Dietary nutrition data

This data is exchanged directly between FitPlate and Apple Health on your device. We never have access to your HealthKit data, and it is never transmitted to any external servers.

Notifications

FitPlate may send you local notifications for:

• Meal logging reminders
• Daily nutrition goal updates
• Streak celebrations and milestones

These notifications are generated locally on your device. You can enable or disable notifications at any time in the app settings or your device's Settings app.

In-App Purchases

FitPlate offers optional premium features through in-app purchases. These transactions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not have access to your payment information, credit card details, or Apple ID.

Data Control

You have full control over your data:

• Export: Use the Export feature in Settings to save your data
• Delete: Delete individual entries, meals, or progress data at any time
• Complete Removal: Uninstalling the app removes all associated data from your device

Children's Privacy

FitPlate is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Since all data is stored locally on the device and not transmitted to us, we have no way to identify or collect information from any users, including children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
