Your Privacy Matters

BudgetPulse is designed with your privacy as a top priority. We believe your financial information is deeply personal, and we've built our app to respect that.

Premium Features & Cloud Processing

Some premium features require secure cloud processing to function. When you use these features, limited data is sent to our servers for processing and is never stored:

• Receipt Scanning: When you scan a receipt, the photo is sent to a secure server for text recognition. The image is processed in real time and immediately discarded — it is not saved on any server.
• Spending Insights: A summary of your spending categories and totals (no individual transaction details or personal identifiers) is sent to generate personalized tips. This summary data is processed and immediately discarded.
• Bank Transaction Import: When you upload bank screenshots or PDF statements, the images are sent for transaction extraction. The images are processed in real time and immediately discarded — they are not saved on any server.

These cloud features use third-party machine learning services (such as Google Gemini, OpenAI, and xAI) to process data. The data sent to these services:

• Is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS)
• Is processed in real time and not stored by BudgetPulse or the processing providers
• Does not include your name, email, account numbers, or any personal identifiers
• Cannot be used to identify you personally

You can use BudgetPulse without these premium features — all core budgeting, expense tracking, and reporting work entirely on your device with no cloud connection.

Information We Store Locally

BudgetPulse stores the following information only on your device using Apple's secure on-device storage:

• Budget Data: Your budget categories, spending limits, and financial goals
• Transaction Records: Expenses and income entries you manually add
• Category Information: Custom categories and subcategories you create
• Reports & Analytics: Your spending patterns and budget summaries
• App Settings: Your preferences for currency, notifications, and display options

This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it using the app's export feature.

Information We Do NOT Collect

BudgetPulse does not collect, access, or transmit:

• Your bank account information, login credentials, or passwords
• Your location data
• Your contacts or address book
• Your browsing history
• Device identifiers for tracking purposes
• Any data to third-party analytics or advertising services

Receipt images, bank screenshots, and spending summaries sent for cloud processing (as described above) are processed in real time and never stored or shared.

Notifications

BudgetPulse may send you local notifications for:

• Budget limit warnings when approaching spending limits
• Daily or weekly spending reminders (optional)
• Bill payment reminders you set
• Goal achievement celebrations

These notifications are generated locally on your device. You can enable or disable notifications at any time in the app settings or your device's Settings app.

In-App Purchases

BudgetPulse offers optional premium features through in-app purchases. These transactions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. We do not have access to your payment information, credit card details, or Apple ID.

Data Control

You have full control over your data:

• Export: Use the Export feature in Settings to save your data
• Delete: Delete individual transactions or categories at any time
• Complete Removal: Uninstalling the app removes all associated data from your device

Children's Privacy

BudgetPulse is intended for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Since all data is stored locally on the device and not transmitted to us, we have no way to identify or collect information from any users, including children.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
